Our Presentation Evaluation

For our presentation Max, Jack and myself had to analyze a clip from Jurassic Park 3 where we had to analyze the audio within the clip. The clip we chose is when the group comes across a derelict laboratory where they used to grow the dinosaurs. after exploring it further they are attacked by a velociraptor and a chase begins. the group manages to trap the raptor who then calls for help, and the rest of the pack joins in the chase. We chose this because not only are we big fans of the film but there was alot of both diegetic and non-diegetic sound as well as being an entertaining scene.

During the preparation i did alot of work on the power point as we had to research into the film  and list the sounds were heard and categorize them into diegetic and non-diegetic, I think that the strong points of our project was that we finished our powerpoint very quickly and had alot of information on the background of the film. i think one of our weaknesses of the group was a lack of communication from some members of the group and secondly i was not in college when we were doing the presentation as i was at a university open day and there for the group was a person down.

  1. Group 6: Jurassic Park 3 – Max W and Jack (and Rob – not present)
    • Good background information with extra budget info - good
    • Good list of the diegetic and non diegetic sounds
    • Good mention about the setting of the scene
    • Some detail as to how the recording took place
    • Overall: Most points covered briefly : Pass
    • (note for future presentations, make sure everyone in your group knows what they are doing in case some is not present. Also try not to read directly off the slides)
